Developer not found No opened page names a company behind the creation of the Pedregal landholding. The one account of its origin attributes it to a person: architect Manuel Diaz Rivera and his family, who acquired 360 acres of hillside terrain at Land's End in the late 1960s, designed the subdivision and began construction in the early 1970s. No firm is named alongside him, and the pages carrying the Waldorf Astoria conversion speak only of the 24-acre resort parcel.
